Melodrama
3rd March 1999
My bedroom, Perth
drink a little molotov
how's it feel going down?
scream a little sanity
don't let them hear a sound
hear them cry because they don't need you
hear them cry because they don't need you
hear them cry because they don't need you
hear them yell because
you're only making things worse
breathe a little lucent black
you're only feeling fine
feel a little worse for wear
it's only in your mind
one day she'll be gone and you're the one to blame
one day she'll be gone and you're the one to blame
one day she'll be gone and you're the one to blame
one day you'll be gone you've only got yourself
deconstruction
Melodrama was written during an awkward period amongst my closest friends. I kept to my personal philosophy of helping friends in difficult emotional situations as much as possible. However I soon found myself taking on their burdens instead of helping them to carry their own. By the time I wrote this, I wasn't even sure if I was helping anymore, or just making things worse for everyone concerned.
